The third quarter of this year is slowly coming to an end and we prepare to usher in the fourth and last quarter of 2019. A question ringing loudly in my ears is: How did time fly so fast? It seems just like yesterday when we said, ‘Happy New Year’ and in another twelve weeks or thereabout, we would be saying ‘Merry Christmas’. OK, ignore me. I get that way sometimes.
Sometime last week, precisely on Wednesday, 18th September 2019, Taxaide Technologies and AO2LAW in collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) had the first Interactive Session on the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) 2019 at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island. In the last edition of The TaxaideR, Taxtech’s Tech Associate, Joseph Udonsak enlightened us a great deal in his article titled, ‘Forget Tax; Data is the New Oil’. Indeed, in this time and age, we cannot overlook the relevance of data and how it has come to set the tone for today’s world.
